Happy Halloween! The BBOTD absolutely hosed up as predicted yesterday to give us another winning day. Rather disappointed with the days results on the whole though and would have expected a few more winners given some of the rated selections and their superiority on the figures. Definitely underperformed. Sad to see SDS stamp on his horse at Newmarket whilst in the stalls - its hard enough this game as it is, without Jockeys nobbling their horses before the start of the race. Im not sure a 5 day ban is enough. I hope the horse isnt too sore this morning. Racing can do without such public displays of "cheating"! We move on......

Firstly let me again apologise for the late posting of the Ratings yesterday. My computer went into meltdown for some reason and I couldnt do anything with it. I had no way of posting my plight on here. Thankfully I did manage it, but I accept a few people missed a few selections and the BBOTD winner! We had a half decent day yesterday - Particularly pleasing was Trendsetter winning at 7/1 (as big as 9/1 early prices!) and of course an 11/4 BBOTD winner to go with our 9/2 the previous day. I accept its still not back to a few weeks back, but a corner is turning and shows that blips are short lived to the extent we experienced recently. More improvement required which i hope will come as the NH season gets into full swing! Its all about the long term!!

Another muddling/struggling day yesterday. During this blip it is advisable to adjust stakes and perhaps also to consider dutching the selections as I've noticed an upturn in 2nd rated winners or placed efforts. If you're not familiar with Dutching then google it. Its basically betting on 2 horses in the same race to achieve a certain profit as long as either wins. This can be useful in large fields or Class 1-2 or group / listed events.

Good morning! Only marginally better yesterday but still not the standard we're used to. What was pleasing (?) was that we still out pointed our friends over at Speed Ratings which is a victory of sorts. We must improve though results wise. Going from over 18 winners a week or so ago to 6 or 7 is a culture shock but there are a few bad luck stories hidden within the results, like horses forced wide, or breaking down when looking most likely to win, or even a fair few 1st rated finishing second by a length or less. Well yesterday was complete carnage! Worst set of results I think ever on the Service and i cant image many other services lauding up yesterday. Some totally out of the blue results, and some very freaky goings on - Just watch the 2.30 from Lingfield......totally bizarre! I lost count of how many top rated/good things simply underperformed. Mixed bag yesterday. Some very pleasing winners and some disappointing runs too. BBOTD was very disappointing. End of season/early season fodder where trainers seem to run horses regardless whether they'll act on the going - its all about getting a certain "mark" or simply getting a run into them - some trainers clearly have their horses more forward than others but it will settle down.

We had a good day yesterday - Only Brighton was a let down and that was mainly due to a significant going change from good/good soft to Heavy. Save for Brighton we found some great priced winners and it was topped off with 6 1st rated winners from 7 at Wolverhampton. I am not sure we'll enjoy a similar day today. Ive had to post these Thursday evening and early indication dictates it could be a blip day. With rain forecast overnight and possible going changes, and no idea of non runners etc, my own view is to bypass Fridays Racing if you can and focus on Ascot and Saturdays racing. There are too many variables I cant account for when posting at 11.00pm

Pretty rubbish day yesterday - some very well handicapped and rated horses ran shockers - very disappointing when horses superiorly rated lose but when the capitulate so tamely and don't even give us a run, it really is poor.

Saturday sees us with the Race of the day - the Cesarewitch but there are plenty of good racing today - it looks like one where you also need to seriously consider the 2nd rated as well as look out for the live betting market. It could also be complicated by heavy rain forecast across the Country. My view is to tread very carefully today.

We have a potentially tricky day today with many of the top rated selections ideally suited by current going conditions. With heavy rain on the way it will for certain change the going and I suspect a number of trainers/owners will have the difficult decision of whether to run their horse or pull it. I suspect with the prize money on offer they'll run the horse regardless. Ascot, Newmarket, Ripon will ALL be affected by the Rain and I advise NOT to bet until the live betting market on each race.
