Good morning!
Mixed bag yesterday with quite a few of the Rated selections placed and a few decent priced winners - Biggest let down of the day was the BBOTD - What a shocker! I have my reservations about Joseph O'Brien as a jockey and it was reinforced yesterday. Ruler of the World was by far the superior horse in that field - professionally and personally I lost with that selection yesterday. Professionally it made me look silly when I was talking up the rating figures and suggesting it would win by 4-5 lengths (I think it lost by 4-5 lengths) and personally I had one of my biggest bets of the season on that selection as I was almost certain it wouldn't get beat.
I can only apologise for yesterdays BBOTD and those that followed it.

BBOTD - 6.30 Curragh - Irish Derby - RULER OF THE WORLD 5/4 Generally. I know I don't do Irish Racing, but applying my criteria he stands at 4-5 lengths clear of the rest so I cannot ignore that. LOST! Awful ride and terrible race by J O'Brien who frankly I dislike more and more. He is the master of getting fantastic horses beat! I like to think I know a little about Speed Ratings and Galileo Rock (2nd) was beaten by RoftheW previously. GR has turned around 7-8 lengths on the form which isn't possible! A horse cannot improve that much. RoftheWs last 3 furlongs at Chester was the FASTEST in history at that Venue! He should have trounced that field.

Our Great British Summer continues today with lots of rain around. Its going to make it tricky with predicting how any rain will affect if at all the meetings at Chester and Newcastle tonight as well as the evening meeting at Newmarket. It all depends on how much rain falls during the day. Some places are predicting between 6-20mm of rain so there could be going changes as well as NRs and it could also affect the draw bias. In short a nightmare for any Ratings Service! You'll see as a result, to some degree, of trying to predict this, the Ratings have come up with more tri selections. To be honest there are some selections that would figure a lot higher if the ground eases but its impossible to give them as selections and I've ignored them. I could have produced 2 -3 sets of ratings if I'm honest as the speed rating is markedly different for the horses dependant in their form over the conditions.

BBOTD – EW/Place 3.00 Beverley – TEDS BROTHER 6/1 Generally. WON at 5/1 but was 6/1 when advised and won by a Shd. We deserved some luck with a few recent BBOTD not getting home or being ridden poorly. So it was pleasing we got this one and at such decent odds!
RC Comment:
TED´S BROTHER proved game on the inside near the business end and deservedly went one better than his second at Thirsk a week earlier. He was full of himself through the early parts, but crucially saved ground against the rail and showed a good attitude when the gaps appeared. He´s in at Carlisle on Wednesday where he would carry a penalty, but he has another decent draw there so connections may well be tempted. Further down the line he´s reported to have schooled well over hurdles.

I have also received a number of emails expressing concern over the Lay Selections. William is aware how bad they’ve been lately and is working on them. However, my advise is either to leave this part of the Service alone for a while whilst William re-looks at his system, or as many have done, back them to win. I have received a number of emails from members thanking me for the additional winners especially those backing as singles and doubles.

Saturday racing is here and it brings some inclement weather as well as the last day of Ascot. Up and down day yesterday and whilst Williams 9/1 nap went in the BBOTD failed to land - Im not sure if anyone saw the Race but if you tell me Franny Norton was trying then I am a Monkey's Uncle. Really disappointing. Size the day before was given an awful ride and then won yesterday, and last night Norton just didn't ride the horse out

Summer Solstice and day 4 of Ascot. We’ve had a pretty good Royal Ascot so far so it would be nice if it continued and we found a few more winners today.
The suggested e/w double yesterday returned a profit to go with 2 winners and several decent priced placed horses.
Williams Nap also won.
I know I sound like a stuck record, but we’ve had quite a bit of rain in the south east and it looks like there will be further showers (some thundery and heavy) so there is likely to be a number of Non Runners and going change. With the evening meetings likely to be affected by any rain falling throughout the day, please tread carefully. I won’t be able to update the selections much beyond mid afternoon.

Good morning!
Day 2 of Royal Ascot. We enjoyed a very good day yesterday with the Ratings producing 4 from 6 winners and in the 2 other races decent placed efforts – If you played the Jackpot/Placepot it would have returned £564.20. William also had a decent patent [2 winners from 3 with the other placed] and a 6/1 NAP.
Today we are subject to random heavy and thundery showers which could make the draw and finding the good ground more significant. It could also produce some random results as we won’t know how the ground is riding or where the better ground is until the end of the 1st race. If it rains consistently and there is a going change, the market will radically change, so please be alert to market movements as well as any going change. RP Comment: GREAT CRESTED, who looked an unlucky loser over a mile here on his handicap debut, had the blinkers fitted and produced plenty for pressure to sweep into the lead and give his rider a treble on the day. He has an entry at Brighton on Tuesday and another later in the week and it would be no surprise if he turned out under a penalty.

Good Morning! Terrible day yesterday with so many selections either not running up to their mark or getting pipped by less than 1/2 length. It could have been a totally different day. I watched a lot of replays yesterday to see if I could work out why the Selections ran so badly, but I could see that a handful could have a question mark against them in terms of tactics, otherwise it was just "one of those days" - typified by Bomber Thorn backed from 6/4 into 4/9 getting beaten by a nose by a 25/1 shot.
Whilst I am not sure Weather was instrumental yesterday it could be today - especially with the evening meetings - in particular Haydock where rain is forecast later. With the Ratings wobbling yesterday and inclement weather looming, tread carefully. Good Luck!

We enjoyed a reasonable week last week and thus the bar has now been reset. We here at The Professional Syndicate arent people to rest on our laurals and we are forever striving for better results. Good runs can always end but retaining your strategies even through lean times means any losses are minimal. Please give your strategies time and allow them to develop. Stories of £6700 and of tripling betting banks are fantastic but must not be considered the norm or a daily occurance, so just be patient and disciplined. Stop when you've achieved your target for the day. Don't be lured into betting on every selection or chasing your losses. Its the long term that matters - we're 5 weeks in since launch so we have a long way to travel together. Keep up the posts on the Forum and those still fighting in the dark, use the forum to ask for help. Don't just cancel your subscription because its not working out. Clearly it is working out, you just have to consider adopting the right strategy!

BBOTD - 4.15 Brighton - UNCLE FRED 5/2 Generally. Has to beat the odds on Favourite, but he likes to come off the pace and has generally won in double digit fields. The Selection is on a handy mark on Ratings, and there is a good chance the favourite can be overturned on this occasion.
LOST - The return to turf didn´t really bring about any improvement from Uncle Fred, who never settled in a race not run to suit. He saw plenty of daylight after switching to the inside running rail earlier than the rest of the field and wasn´t given a hard time once beaten.

Good morning! We continued our good form yesterday and its great to read so many great stories of members making decent profits. That is what its all about after all. A note of caution (yes, another one!) about Saturday's racing. Historically the Ratings results dip a wee bit on Saturdays - I am still to work out why, but this is NOT the day to steam in or go crazy. Please stick to your strategies and only bet with what you can afford to lose. Don't whatever you do give all your money back to the bookie. Its been a good week, lets limit any losses today and hope that the Ratings remain reasonably strong even today!

A good quality juvenile conditions race in which LANGAVAT got his career back on track having unseated his jockey when appearing to have the race at his mercy at Goodwood last time. Ideally drawn next to the rail, he showed terrific speed to lead his field and then show a really good attitude when hard pressed in the final furlong.

Good morning. We've had a really strong week thus far and my initial concerns over the Ratings yestereday proved unfounded. As a heads up, the Ratings today in some races is so close its been difficult to split them with at least 7 races producing identical ratings. This can happen and often is more prevalent in Handicap races.
Remember the advice is to go slowly, stick with your strategy and dont whatever you do start upping your stakes or betting every selection. Yesterday I noted one members strategy netted him over £6700. It would be nice if that was a daily occurance, but in practice it won't be so please don't be tempted to all of a sudden change tack and try to emulate it. Stick to your target profit and if thats £20 a day - stick with it. Thats still £7300 a year!
Please keep your strategies and advices flowing on the Forum. Its only by working together we become stronger as a Community.

Racing Post Comment: Quite a strong 3yo handicap, won last year by subsequent Group 2 King Edward scorer Thomas Chippendale, and it´s possible we saw another future Group-race performer this time around in MAPUTO, who although ultimately having to be ridden right out, really did impress with the way in which he travelled, getting them all off the bridle some way out.
He was 7lb well in under his penalty, which he picked up for smashing his rivals by 10l at Redcar last week, so he was entitled to win, but again displayed a high cruising speed and can certainly be rated better than the bare form. Entered in the Sussex Stakes as well as a Group 3 at the Curragh later in the month, he appears to have too much pace for 1m4f, so looks best kept to races at 1m-1m2f and therefore the Tercentenary at Royal Ascot looks the obvious next step.

Good morning! Well all in all a reasonable day yesterday and we hope to build on that going forward. Today however is a really strange day horse racing wise and I've been getting some very odd Ratings figures which can happen on occasions due to certain race types and the horses entered into them etc.
I was up early today (5am) going through my historical notes for the results on such days and would offer a word of caution if deciding to use the Ratings today. It is certainly not a day to increase stakes or change your strategy. I would observe a watching brief over the first few races to assess how they've fared.
With betting bank balances topped up over the past few days, I dont want you blindly handing it all back to the Bookie so hence the word of caution.

The BBOTD WON - INGLEBY ANGEL (6/5SP), 4lb well in under his 6lb penalty after being raised 10lb for his clear-cut Redcar success, travelled strongly and only had to be put about his job to put a seal on the prize. Good morning! Slightly frustrating day with a few gems in amongst a few disappointing results especially with horses not running to form. However we did get a nap and win double, and the Value Selections again produced some decent results especially Valentino Oyster (win) and Cadal (3rd) at 22/1 running well up to their rating. Hoping for a tad more consistency from the Ratings today.

I was really pleased with the 3 value bets today which would have returned a very decent profit bet placed or EW or in an EW treble.
BBOTD 2.45 Lingfield - MADERIA GIRL 6/4 Generally BOG.
According to the Market the selection has to beat last years winner Moment in the Sun but Ratings wise, she is weighted well, has the best RPR in the Race and her empathtic win In Ireland makes her mathematically the one to beat.
Maderia Girl drifted on course and sadly could only manage 3rd. I can only apologise. This is the RPs comment: Madeira Girl, making her AW debut and back on the Flat after a couple of moderate efforts over hurdles, had upwards of 13lb in hand on these terms but, even though she made a brave effort to make all, she didn´t run to her mark of 74. - I hope that gives you some idea of how on the RATINGS this horse should have won.

Given the changing odds, can I suggest that anything which would return even money is placed/bet Each Way where applicable as there are significant times where a rated selection is 6/1 and ends up at 7/2 winning - I always put the results as the SP for consistency, but in that scenario at 6/1 you'd place/ew bet it, but at 7/2 you may just win bet it. Hope thats clear.
You may also wish to consider putting some of these in EW doubles/trebles/patents etc.

Day 2 of the Epsom Festival and were a little unlucky with our first rated in the Oaks yesterday as watching the race back several times, I think he was produced slightly too early which ultimately led to him getting shot down late. His trainer was adamant that he is the better horse of the two in the yard and remains confident he will be a Group 1. Still, there is plenty of racing throughout the Country today. Its a busy one.
To all those recently joined, please read my previous comments/posts about how to use this Service. Please don't rush in and bet on every race. Try to be disciplined and patient.
