Carl, As the name suggests, to win the Placepot you have to find placed horses in the first
six races of a meeting. Where a race has four or less runners, you must find the winner.
With five to seven horses, first or second place counts. With eight or more runners, your
selection must be in the top three, and in handicaps with 16 runners or more, fourth place
also qualifies. If one of your selections is a non–runner, the bet is automatically transferred
to the favourite (with joint favourites, the one with the higher race–card number). If a race
is cancelled or abandoned the Placepot will only take into account the remaining races.

Winners are paid a dividend, declared to a £1 stake, in proportion to their winning bet. So
if, for example, a dividend of £300 is declared and you have one 20p winning line, you will
receive winnings of 300 x 0.20 = £60. Dividends range from a few pounds upwards, and
have been known to break the £10,000 mark!

All bookmakers use the dividend declared by the Tote to calculate winnings, so with this bet it does not matter where you place it.
The Placepot can be a good betting opportunity if you concentrate on gaining smaller, regular wins, rather than waiting for an elusive £1,000+
payout. The Placepot system which follows is a simple method that uses the power of permutations to help you catch as many of those low to medium–sized dividends as possible. It can be used at any meeting of your choice.

Rob, the other thing to factor in as we are placing an each way bet (far more place than win) is to only accept 3 places, don’t bet if only 2 places, probability is against you here.

Rob, you could go for longer odds, upto say 33/1 but your losing runs will be longer, and you’ll need a bigger bank to protect you from those losing runs.

That’s right Carl, the only problem you will encounter is volume, Matt’s ratings do not pull up enough 7/1 and longer horses per day, and the key is in the value, do back all of Matt’s 7/1 plus selections, they were rated for a reason!

Try this, stick a chunk of money aside, say £200, divide your bank in to 100 points, giving you £2 per point, place a £1 each way bet (£2 total) on every 7/1 plus rated horse, do this everyday, UK, Ireland, and after 500 bets ( It’ll take a while) you will be in profit, guaranteed! Maths, pure maths, I love it!

In fact by the time you reach 500 bets, you should have doubled, or near doubled your initial investment.

This is no get rich quick, a slow steady cash builder, and another arm to your growing portfolio.
