Don’t you just love it when the bookies can’t agree! 12/1 with Hills, 16/1 with Victor and as you’ve pointed out 20/1 with Skybet. Usually means good things. Get on those long odds NOW!

A bumper weekend of Irish Racing this Easter Weekend, The Easter Festival and Fairyhouse, culminating in the Irish Grand National at 1700 on Easter Monday.

I have an ante post for the National, utilise the place market where we are having great success, and many bookies will be paying out 6 places too.

Irish Grand Nationl 1700 Monday 17th April

Road To Respect, currently 12/1 with most, eachway/place.

For those of you that follow the Double Matched / Matched Ratings, I’ve taken a look at yesterdays as a comparison as it was a tricky day which usually throws up some differences. But, the findings are very similar, which in turn made me look at previous results to compare, and you guessed it, I found a stark difference which will help those hone their strategies.

Firstly, lets take a glance at yesterdays and compare the ‘official’ matched ratings with Carl’s double match with Form Ratings.

    Carls Double Match

    26 selections
    4 winners
    11 placed

    Matched Ratings

    27 selections
    7 winners
    9 placed

One thing you will notice straight away from just one set of results is the double matched produces more placed selections and the Matched Ratings produces more winners! This is a consistent theme. Of course some days a complete reverse, but in essence this a very good strategy for long term consistent profits.

You have a choice of two strategies that consistently produce winners and places in abundance!

Heres a stat for those betting on the National.

Since the abandoned race of 1993. Only 2 horses under the age of 9 have won. That discounts the top four in the betting!

I said yesterday that Aintree represents a huge opportunity to lay the favourites and bar Might Bite that strategy is proving profitable.

Rob, the wise old owl! good advice to anybody who gets carried away with festivals. Aintree is as you say a chance for the bookies to recoup their losses from Cheltenham. Yesterday was case in point, just the 2 winners. Today looks little better. if you must bet at Aintree, use the place market only to limit your losses and maximise your probability. Yesterday was a tough day, but saying that we did pick 15 winners from 28 races!

Very tricky day today, do consider the place market, this was very profitable yesterday and all week actually. A super day for the 7/1 plus, and looking at the matched ratings, the numbers are very tight indeed.

For those of you who like to lay the favourite, the next 3 days at Aintree, look like a huge opportunity!
