Unusual blip yesterday for the Ratings and SAW as we really did have an off day. Nothing and I mean nothing ran to its mark - we were a little unlucky with the BBOTD - Kingcora who was travelling best just as the race was getting interesting when making a terrible mistake and unseating his rider. There has been lots of NRs due to 15mm of rain over night at Musselburgh, which is now riding soft. Smaller fields can mean tactics are more of a threat but lets hope we can back to our usual consistent ways today.

Good morning! Reasonable day for the Ratings and an improved performance at Wolverhampton. BBOTD won again (by 6 lengths) and SAW members strictly applying the STOP at winner staking plan were in profit when the 1st of the selections won comfortably.

Saturdays are notoriously tricky affairs and there is some great racing today, albeit, Chepstow is now described as very heavy after lots of rain. Chepstow is a demanding track at the best of times. Its very soft, heavy on the bend at Kempton and heavy at Newcastle, so all in all, a smaller stake day is advised!

Reasonable day yesterday - I was willing our 1st rated James Pollard (25/1) to get closer at the finish, but around 3 lengths down wasn't a bad run in the circumstances and shows the power of the Ratings given it finished with a 16/1sp giving us profit backed placed/EW. I managed to grab 25/1 giving me a 6.25/1 payout (bet365)

Good morning and Happy Valentines Day. In all honesty a bit of a hit and miss day with surprisingly a lot of selections running well below their rating. None more so that Rainbow Peak who on official figures was 15 lengths ahead of the horse (50/1) that beat him by a nose.  There were a number of other selections “well in” at the weights having won off higher marks – The Panama Kid had won off 14lbs higher and with the ideal ground/trip should have performed a lot better. Good morning! As far as Saturdays go we didn't fare too badly. We didn't get the winner of the Betfair Hurdle, but I doubt many would have picked "Splash of Ginge". RP Comment: Baltimore Rock, making his handicap debut after winning on similar ground at Wincanton, was keen enough at the back of the field early but his rider still looked confident as he edged closer rounding the home turn, even though he still has several lengths to make up on the winner. However, an untidy jump two out quickly had him on the back foot and another one at the last sealed his fate. He was already due a 3lb rise before this.

A very hit and miss weekend for the Service - usually I might add given the stellar form we've been in. Saturdays are always tricky at the best of times, but without sounding like an excuse the 3 jumps cards were so heavy it was untrue and form/speed/RPRs just go out the window. If anyone saw the Racing, the conditions at Ffos Las were atrocious and the horses were walking through the fences 3 out and that was with 2 or 3 fences already omitted!
