Another hit and miss day to some degree though we grabbed a 4/1 winner in the very first race of the day, so with £20 on that was an £80 win and perhaps the end of most members days given most will have hit their daily profit target. Longshots again performed well with 3 placing. Disappointed with the BBOTD though. Not sure if anything went wrong but was rapidly eased even though I couldn't find out if it was just precautionary or he was eased "just because". Either way it was annoying. Better luck today we hope!

Overall I was pretty pleased with Royal Ascot Ratings. The longshots again proving their worth with Idaho and The Tin Man winning well for us. I think we had a good Ascot and I hope those joining specifically for the Ascot Ratings will stick around given we also had a good week at all the other meetings. Save for the first and last race we either picked up the winner or at the very least gained a place or two in each of the preceding races. Big Orange won the Gold Cup after Ryan Moore gave Order of St George just too much to do and by the smallest of margins was edged out. Thrilling race! We also did ok away from Ascot, BBOTD, (Nap won again!) and we had a 14/1 winner, a 20/1 2nd, a 12/1 2nd a 7/1 winner etc. With most members now seeking value and profit from the place market, yesterday wasn't a bad day at all given the prices!!

Well I predicted 3 winners at Royal Ascot yesterday and we gained 4! That's 9 winners from 12 races after 2 days not to mention some decent placed selections - There seemed to be a bit more of a draw bias yesterday than was evident on the first day so I am keeping an eye on that. However Ballet Concerto placed at 20/1, Queen of Time placed at 10s into 8s, and 1-2 in the 3.05. Overall on what was perceived to be a tricky day, I don't think we faired too badly. We again outperformed our rivals (that despite the article!!) From the number of emails I've received from newer members who have joined specifically for Ascot, I can only assume the majority of you are happy you joined. Another hard day today in store. Again I was burning the midnight oil in a few of these races looking for an angle.

ASCOT BANKER (Would be nice to get one as we're 0/2 despite 9 winners from 12 races!): 4.20 Order of St George *if he brings his A game he is the class in the field and I am banking on O'Brien having this one fully tuned up after being behind a few of these in previous races. I trust the figures and think O'Brien has deliberately held this one back to shine today and win this in similar fashion to last year. Of all the races today, this one has the strongest overall rating so whilst its crude to say a "banker" its the best horse in the race by 2 lengths.
Another BBOTD winner for the Service yesterday and several good winners throughout the evening racing - Uttoxeter was also a happy hunting ground for us yesterday too.

A reasonable start to Royal Ascot. Disappointed that Churchill failed to fire but we still grabbed the winner with Barney Roy and we managed a total of 5 winners from the 6 races. Encouraging to see a few longshots do well. 2 placed and 1 16/1 winner in the last. I thought Deauville ran well and Lancaster Bomber 28/1 advised also ran well above expectations to come in 2nd. All told, today is FAR trickier and could be a day where you give it all back to the bookies. Those in profit from yesterday should adjust their bets accordingly. Personally the fields are so big today and the ratings spread is so tight (I'm sure Richard would concur?), that I would really reduce stakes and spread the bets in a way that a small profit is taken if any of the selections wins. My ratings pad I use was 9 pages full of scribbles and permutations If we get 3 winners at Ascot I'll be over the moon!!! Heed the warning, please.

BBOTD blew up in a falsely run race - looked like the Jockey didn't know whether to stick or twist and in the end didn't do anything and the horse was eased down a furlong out. Clearly ran well below his previous form and RPR. Best horse, worst result! On a more positive note we grabbed a very nice 10/1sp 1st rated winner with Beepeecee and several other decent odds winners coming from both ratings. A few hard luck stories too with Bahamian Dollar coming 2nd by a nose at 4/1, autumn leaves coming 2nd by a head at 9/1. We also had Dangltdontask coming 3rd at 14/1 so plenty of placed "winners" so to speak.

The weather certainly threw everything at us yesterday, so many non-runners and Wetherby went from good to soft, to soft, to heavy within hours! With all that taken into consideration we didn’t do too badly, 16 winners, 20 placed, five 1-2 finishes (three in successive races at Fontwell) BBOTD (Black Corton) won, and two longshots won too (Brother Mcgonagal @ 9/1SP which drifted from 5/1 earlier in the day and Satchville Flyer @ 13/2SP, 10/1 when advised)
On to today, and the weather sees an improved picture but Hamilton rides soft, heavy in places and at the time of writing has 24 declared non-runners! It's a similar picture at all other cards, so once again tread very carefully again today, bet smart and you should come out on top.

A fairly solid day yesterday, 19 winners across the cards, standout winner being Stake Acclaim at Windsor winning at 10/1SP. 4 of our 6 longshots performed, giving us two winners and two 3rd placed. Six 1-2 finishes and 18 placed selections.
Today sees some testing conditions, there has been a lot of overnight rain and more forecast in parts. The going has changed there are currently 21 non runners at Chepstow, 14 at Wetherby and I dare say there will be more to come, all mainly down to the going. For what it's worth, today is a day to lock your banks away, if it doesn't rain there's the wind to contend with! Tread very carefully.
