Its been a strange few days in general - the majority of really well rated/handicapped horses failing to show up! I think everyone is suffering. Speedratings.com didnt get any more than 1-2 winners yesterday - Hitman i understand drew a blank (they supply the "best" tips from a core of tipsters) - Even Keiths Placepot and pro bet selections drew a blank which is very unusual. Not quite sure why 16/1 or 30/1 shots are popping up at the expense of better runners, but thats racing and sometimes you have to ride out the dips before catching the winning waves. We have today and tomorrows Ratings to go for a week so lets hope for a mini revival heading into the break.

To be fair, the last 3-4 days have been below par - we had a BBOTD winner and a few others here and there, but the usual high standard of winners hasnt been there. It may be a direct effect of poor racing but I've always been honest about such things and there's definite signs of a small dip in results. Saturday last week was pretty good, but we've not had much to shout about since. Might be worth a watching brief or a break for this week and next - but should you persevere, keep stakes low until the upswing starts.

Rain certainly got into the ground at a few meetings as a few runners just struggled to run to their mark - Accura Beach in the 8.15 at Windsor was a great example of that recording an RPR lower than on the firmer going which meant he went down by 1/2 length. A good day at the Office yesterday - BBOTD won again and with Classic Win a non runner all the other Win/Place selections won, giving most members a very tidy return. SAW members had another 3 from 3 despite declaring a non selection day, and after a slow start this week for the Big Odds Trial, we bagged 2 impressive winners with an 11/2 and 8/1 winner (BOG / Early prices) - Another Tricky day on the cards especially with a massive band of rain sweeping in. Weather forecasters unsure how far north it will reach and at what time, so an eye on the weather is suggested and note any going chances.

Sadly the BBOTD's jockey decided to have a mare! Boxed in and seemed to ride the horse far too late, was eating up the ground and only lost by 3/4 length - was clearly the best horse, but poorly ridden. Morning! First Day of the Chester Meeting and I've applied my new system to the first day, so look out for the selections at the bottom of the page. Valentino Oyster was a Non Runner yesterday and the remaining selection Old Man Clegg ran like the Lib Dem leader - trailing in behind the main leaders (my first rated won the race).
Lots of wind and rain about, so again tread carefully. Remember profit targets. I think we had 3 winners in the first 5 races yesterday - Barneys Honour (very first race) won at 15/8. A tenner on it gave you £18.75 profit. (almost your £20 target) So stop there!
£18.75 x 360 days racing = £6750 net profit in a year. This is a Ratings service, not a tipping service, so not all horses are going to win. Set a target and stick to it. If you're looking to make £500 a day (£180,000 pa) then you will need a big bank and some luck! Making £20-50 a day is very achievable using the ratings. Also, dont think you have to bet every day - sometimes heed my warnings about tricky days or look at the weather and if inclement, have day off! There is always tomorrow! Lecture over! (for now!)

Some decent results yesterday - At Kempton we got the winner of every race with 4 1st rated and 3 2nd rated winners. At Windsor, given Dinneratmidnight was a non runner and if therefore using Bushcraft we got the first 6 winners on the bounce at Windsor. Our "bigger odds" trial grabbed a 5/1 winner and we were 2nd in the other. With £5 outlay per point - so £25 bet both selections (£50total) we had a £125.00 net gain on the day.
Todays racing looks a little poor - tread carefully today.

BBOTD lost on a head bob blanket finish yesterday coming 3rd when with every chance. The winner just kept finding more which was a shame given how well the selection travelled. If truth be told, it looked like he didnt find as much as the jockey anticipated for pressure. The Jockey seemed to be coasting at the 2f marker whilst everything else was off the bridle, but he didnt really pick up. Hoping we get the winner today.
