BBOTD won and SAW produced 3 from 3 but overall still disappointed with the overall results though to be fair, the 2 Appleby horses Wanting and Leoncavallo both lost by a neck when perhaps not getting first run on both occasions. There were other less than a length losses too. Lets hope to build on the upward curve, he says optimistically. 🙂
Just a warning - today has the hall marks of a blip day. The 2nd rated selections are very very closely matched with the 1st rated - Frankly its a betting day to avoid and I would urge all members to avoid today or reduce stakes and operate a tight stop loss amount! PLEASE!!

I think i counted 17 winners across the cards from which 13 where 1st rated. Our BBOTD and Win double won, and why Champagne Present couldnt beat Bells and Banjos is beyond me, but if save for that - our Hot Picks won and the Value bets 2 won and Wink Oliver finished a close 3rd at 14/1 - all in all a decent day. With 3 AW meetings today I cannot guarantee a similar outcome today - as AW meetings tend to throw up some "interesting" results and can be hard to pin down given that some many of these re-oppose on similar terms. Luck in running, the draw and even the Jockey on board can all be huge factors on whether you win by a shd, or lose!

A half decent day yesterday - quite a few winners over the various meetings. Even managed to get the Midland Grand National Winner (2nd rated) after the 1st rated fell.
Thoughts go out to connections of Gilnocke - horse was setting a decent pace and leading until weakened very quickly 3 out, collapsed and died. Clearly would have gone on to win had it not been for what appears to have been a fatal heart attack. So sad. Today we only have Carlise, following Ffos Las abandonment. I have thrown in a few Irish Selections from the Ratings - not tried or tested, but last time i think we got 3 from 3, so perhaps I'll branch out (tongue in cheek)

I think this Cheltenham Festival was even more successful than last years - The Ratings consistently found winners and decent priced placed efforts and the cherry on top was snaffling the 1-2 in the Gold Cup! Cant say better than that. First Novice in 40 years to win the Gold Cup! I hope you all made a few ÂŁÂŁÂŁ using the Ratings over the Festival.
Back to normality today and 5 meetings. Saturdays tend to be a bit hit and miss. If we hit, we really hit, if we miss we generally miss badly. So caution advised.

We had 5 winners - should have been 6 from the Ratings at Cheltenham and I was just relieved to see Annie Power get up after her fall. How lucky are the bookies? Well we bounced back to some welcomed form at the 2 AW meetings picking up 8 1st rated winners from the 14 races though i was disappointed with the Jumps results. We still smashed Speed Ratings yesterday so again another Wednesday and another triumph for the Ratings! Only 3 meetings today, and sadly one of them is Chelmsford.
