BBOTD won and we grabbed a few decent winners throughout the day. Saturday rolls around and it again looks tough. Some really difficult races to unravel and going/draw and luck in running are all variables hard to predict. Whilst I am sure we’ll pick up a few winners throughout the day, I would err on the side of caution. I suspect Carl and Richard will concur that today looks one to watch through your hands! I would certainly consider Dutching both selections and also to consider the place market today especially.

Well the warning was there! I warned of a terrible day and what with a clutch of non runners and some very strange rides and results it was comforting that the BBOTD won at 4/5sp and we also managed a 10/1 1st rated winner with Fast and Hot. I think those were the highlights on a very ordinary day. Today doesn't look much better those, the spread is a little better and the number range higher. It still isn't a "pile in sort of day" by any stretch of the imagination!

I think the word of the day was "frustrating" - We had horses been ridden up backsides of horses, getting trapped, mistiming their run (Society Ranger being the biggest culprit), some NRs to contend with and a few unlucky in running, but mainly quite a few just simply did not perform yesterday. Many ran well below their rating none more so than Lewinsky who looked tired/unfit and was struggling a long way out Put another way, he looked anything but a 3lb well in horse!! Ridiculous! Whinge over! Apologies for the poor ratings yesterday - I'd like to think it was just "one of those days" given nothing seemed to go right for the horses in question!

A reasonable day for the Ratings - BBOTD won at 5/2sp and highlight was Bronze Beau (1st rated) winning at 14/1 sp. It was nice to read several members scooped 500/1 in running on a few of the ratings yesterday plus all the numbers inbetween. Even the NAP won though a significant NR put paid to a decent price, still it won and it can not do more than that - the horse doesn't know what price it is!
