Firstly an update on the current situation – Richard had a personal family situation come up over Christmas which unexpectedly took him away from TPS. He will be back tomorrow (Monday) and so will the ratings.

@denis I appreciate you letting us know and we all certainly appreciate you being a member since day 1. Things will improve here and I’ll work with you through that period. I will be in touch over the coming days with you directly, and all of you.

Hi Everyone…
I’ve posted here recently but wanted to address what’s been going on directly, again, to confirm the current situation.
Jason has moved on from the business and I have taken over. TPS was not explained to me by Jason and wasn’t mentioned before I took the reins of the overall business…

Due to this, I was presented with a lot of legacy issues with the site that needed to be addressed… this is where many of the issues came from recently with days that ratings didn’t update etc. Totally technical issues and entirely my fault when trying to create the beginnings of what would be a better product here. I feel that this has been fixed now and we’re at a base level again where Richard can enter his ratings and we can look forward.

Not making excuses, but everyone left here deserves and explanation and that’s a summary of the recent situation.

I can’t speak for Richard, but I’m not entirely sure how he feels about things recently. This has culminated with Boxing Day and Richard not being available to do ratings for a short period of time. I’m working on this with him and I’m hoping to get back to continued, consistent service with better communication. Ultimately this is up to Richard however we are currently working on some other different angles and will bring this to you.

I sincerely apologise for not communicating any break in service to all of you. I hope to have a further update later today.

Hi all,
I’ve seen your posts here and wanted to respond.

A few months ago I took over the ownership of this site and a few other sites from the old owner. To be honest, it’s been a bit of a baptism of fire. Much of the tech this is all on is old and outdated meaning anything we want to do or need to change is no longer supported – and trying to upgrade site plugins etc just causes the site to break.

We went through that a month or so ago and had to completely rewrite the way daily ratings were handled. We got there but as you all know there were a couple of teething problems in the meantime.

Now things are sort of settled, I have to make some decisions, along with Richard, on the direction of the ratings. Richard is one of the best in the business and the way he rates races is pretty good. I don’t need to tell you that. But in the days of instant gratification where people just want someone to tell them exactly what to do, there’s not a huge number of people wanting to use ratings as another tool in their kit. If you’re reading this, you clearly see value in them!

So moving forward we want to keep things on track and I’m looking to you guys, the members, for feedback, ideas, what could be done better, how we can improve, what we can do to make your life easier? Feel free to give it all to me.

As far as yesterday’s missing of ratings goes, this was entirely on me – I missed the notice from Richard and by the time I got it, it was too late. Apologies – we’re putting measures in place to stop that from happening again. I’m looking in to a way of compensating for the recent issues.

I look forward to your responses in the meantime.
