I think its fair to say we were somewhat undone by the weather yesterday GF becoming Soft is never a good sign. Results reflect that!
The changing going is still being felt with several NRs being declared and there could be others to follow.

LONGSHOTS on Saturday – You say you walloped me…..May I respectfully refer you to the fact that some of your longshots were in fact rated selections Corpus Chorister, Singyoursong for example. Whilst I accept I didn’t have a few on your list, your list was awfully longer than mine! *all said with tongue firmly in cheek

Its interesting that a few of your longshots actually make up into some of my 1st/2nd rated selections!?

There is rain and thunder in the forecast today, PLEASE watch out for going changes. I have allowed some leeway in the selection criteria and checked the goings this morning. BUT good changing to soft would be a worry.

William – the draw is a factor and is applied to such Tracks as Chester by altering the variance – I have some stats somewhere that seem to contradict the held belief that winners always come from the low draws. Its pretty much evenly spread if you look at the historical data though I am first to accept the highest drawn horses score worst over the same historical data.
To all – I accept the BBOTD has been awful in recent days.

The Nap was Gin in the Inn yesterday and to be honest the jock looked like he was waiting right to the last minute to produce the horse and when he hit the boost button the horse really went, but couldn’t get to the winner though lead 20cm after the line and lost by a nose! Great win by the 16/1!!!! but question over why the Jock didn’t produce the horse earlier given the winner was hanging on and our selection seemed to have plenty left!? Sometimes its the right selection but you get the wrong result due to factors beyond your control. If you re-watch the race and have a different view of it, I’m all ears.There were plenty of rated horses that lost by less than a neck – Amour De Nuit – head, Fair Cop, shd, Stradivarius neck. Sometimes final strides count and we were headed a few times in the dying strides. It seems to even itself out over the course of the season, but when you get a wee run of them, it can hurt the betting bank given you can have 5 losing bets and the margin of loss when added up is less than 1/2 length!
