Thanks for asking, Pippin.
There is no improvement at present, her right arm is completely useless and getting bigger, redder and heavier as the fluids cannot drain off due to blocked ‘vessels’.
The tablets given to her seem not to be having the hoped-for effects so far. The oncologist has referred her to the local hospice for treatment in the Lymphodaema Clinic, but the earliest appointment she can get is 14th December. We are hopeful of some improvement after that date, but not over-optimistic. Next Oncology appointment is mid February. If no significant change by then Chemotherapy is the next step but my wife is not keen on going there.
She will be 84 in January and her wishes will be respected, whatever the consequences.
We shall press on regardless.

I tend not to play 4 places so much now that the bank and stake are increasing, as the lower prices mean higher stakes and if more than 1 loser stakes could get out of hand. A complete losing day would take out over £400. a risk I don’t feel like taking with the bank I have now built up.

1) at Odds of 1.60

First stake 35.33
Second Stake 97.75

2) at Odds of 4.00

I know that these are the extremes of the system and that most bets are somewhere inbetween, but I tend to go for the Betfair Place odds without the extra places on offer now that my bank is over £800

I didn’t play 4 places on Nastenka yesterday, don’t ask why – I have no idea!
But I would have had more to lay out on Ding Ding if I had, so would have really panicked at 19.00 in running and enquiry following result, especially as I could not see what had been going on due to Betfair not showing Live Stream on the race.

I think that you misread my post on the losing day (October 24th). My bank at that point had reached £540 and the four losers took out £127, which was my ORIGINAL bank (£120). It took me 13 betting days (until 7th Nov) to get back into the same position as October 23rd – and that came on the 4th bet of that day. I have not recorded any other complete loss days, although there have been several which went to bet 4 and caused squeaky bum moments. I have missed a few days because of hospital visits for either myself or my wife and so am not quite doubling the bank each month, but who wants to make a million in just one year?? There would be no fun in that, would there? I shall probably miss out on Dec 7th and 14th as again we are hospital-bound. Actually 14th is wife’s first visit to hospice, another day not on ‘can’t wait for it’ list. Thanks for your interest, another winner today on second selection. Now just 4p away from £800.
