    Hi Carl,
Why the thumbs up and down against Cape to Cuba?

    Hi Carl,
I’ve found that Ladbrokes exchange has the same AvB bets as Betfair – so people could use that as well.
Also a question – Betfair sportsbook and Paddy Power do a similar matched bet with 2 different horses from the exchange. Would you use the same principle and select the bets that include a double match horse for that day?

Thanks Carl and Dean – between you it has confirmed evrything I needed.

Hi Dean, Sorry as you’ev probably explained this before – but how do you work your AvB. Assume you use Betfair and check at least 1 of the horses is rated. What stake do you use? Is there anything else you need to keep in mind?

Carl – that’s worrying I’ve just done those two in a double!

I have a question – why didn’t Frankie ride Al Shaqab Racing owned El Hayem in the first race at Chester yesterday?

Richard – I’ve been ther before a long time ago but for a meeting in September, this will be my first ‘Glorious Goodwood’. I’ll be relying on your ratings on Friday, although if I do go it will primarily be because of Marsha in 3:45, she must have a chance but it’s very competitive and she’ll need a bit luck in running.

Richard – no I’d say Ascot or Windsor would be. Just might have the possibilty to go to Gloriuos Goodwood so thought I’d take it if it’s offered.

Matt – well done Star Rider 11/1 in the first!!

Richard I was going to suggest the new topics. We need different topics to seperate out what people want to discuss or not discuss. I keep asking question/making statements and get no reply because this topic is taken over by others want to talk about statistics or putting up their ratings for the day. These topics should be seperated out – I have asked about setting up other topics myself but got no reply.

On that point Richard I asked earlier if you were at Good wod all week – I’m hoping to get there on Friday?

I’m sorry for this rant but it’s given me the hump – why are all the racing tipsters all over The Gurkha, Racing Post, At the Races, Timeform, even Jason has tipped him. Yet he’s been beaten in his last two races, he’s never raced on anthing better the soft ground, yet I see statements that fast ground will suit him – how do they know that? Galileo Gold has beaten The Gurkha and won at Goodwood and on fast ground.
I don’t quite see how you can rate The Gurkha better than Galileo Gold on the evidence to date – is it just wishful thinking or a Moore/O’Brien lovefest?

Richard, are you there all week. I’m hoping to go on Friday but not confirmed yet.

Sorry Matt for not commenting on your 16-1 winner.
I was following your Goodwood ratings yesterday for the first 5 races. I was dutching the rated horses for a small amount and then placing each for 3 times the win bet (hope that makes sense). Only horse I missed was War Decree as I thought that Boynton would win and if not would come second and get my money back!
So with the 16/1 winner and at least 1 place in each race I was up for the day and decided to put the winnings on a trixie, your BBOTD double and the Nap of the day – all won so happy days.
Hope the rest of you had a good day.

    Matt,
When you put up an Irish selection, is it because it is high rating and worth having a bet on. It’s a little confusing as you’ve adviced not to bet but does that include Ireland?

Robert, the trouble with place betting on Frankie is that, unless it’s a group race, he doesn’t seem to try too hard if he realises the horse isn’t going to win. A few times now I’ve had bet eachway or place and he’s dropped out of the places when Frankie realises it can’t win. I think it’s more he doesn’t want to push to hard on a horse, especially young horses, whi aren’t going to win rather than anything untoward – doesn’t help us punters though!!

Anyone think Cape Cova in 2:30 at Doncaster – surely Frankie is not going all the way to Doncaster for 1 ride if it’s not got a huge chance?
