Races 3 and 5 produce winners again tonight @ Chelmsford as posted a couple of weeks ago!! Best systems are the simple ones!
James McCarthyParticipantThanks Roger!! Well done if you backed it on there!!
James McCarthyParticipantAnother winner in race 8 at Kempton!!! Munsarim doing the job @ 14/1!! Only last night let me down since posting.
James McCarthyParticipantIan
Thanks for that. Much appreciated.
JamesJames McCarthyParticipantHi Ian
With your placed bets do you use both selections from Matts ratings or just 1st rated? Or sometimes choose between 1st and 2nd depending on price
Thanks for info so far – big helpJames
James McCarthyParticipant2nd and 3rd in race 3 tonight @ Chelmsford plus 3rd in race 5.
Close!
Wolverhampton tomorrow!James McCarthyParticipantRichard
Strike rate includes both selections as I have been currently dutching both. However, last week I did just use your matched ratings at Kempton and Chelmsford (so therefore just backing 1 horse) and this proved very good also – particularly at Chelmsford on Thursday.Hope that makes sense!!
James.
James McCarthyParticipantMorning all,
Firstly thanks to everyone on here for their contributions and most helpful advice. In particular a big thank you to Keith for his spreadsheets and regular updates! If anyone hasn’t yet requested a copy I would strongly recommend they do.
I have been looking at the spreadsheets over the last two weeks and in particular, for my sins, the all-weather meetings and a few trends have popped up that could be quite profitable if they are sustained over the winter period.
I have basically analysed which races at the various all-weather tracks have the greatest strike rates when using the ratings and the results are as follows:
Chelmsford – races 3, 4, 5 and 7 have the greatest strike rate with races 3 and 5 having respective strike rates of 67% and 78% over the period of Keith’s spreadsheets.
Kempton – when there are 8 races at the meeting race 8 has a 70% strike rate (including a 12/1 winner – Garter last week).
Wolves – when there are 8 races at the meeting race 8 has a 64% strike rate.I have been dutching both selections and back e/w when odds are over 8/1.
I have not analysed Southwell or Lingfield yet as both tracks have been relatively quiet over the Summer period. I will do it eventually though and post any findings once more. Newcastle does not currently throw up any significantly strong stats like the ones above with races 1 and 2 at each meeting currently having the highest strike rate at 47%.
Hope this might help over the all weather season in the coming months and will be interesting to see if the trends are continued at Chelmsford today.
Regards

When you are concentrating on particular meetings are you dutching both rating selections or just backing 1st rated? Also, what forms the decision on selecting specific meetings?
Thanks
James
James McCarthyParticipantStuart
100% Agreed. Stronger discipline needed on Sunday’s to leave it alone!!!
James McCarthyParticipantElisabeth – thanks for the Accagold bet!
Richard – sincere condolences to you and your family.Regards
James
James McCarthyParticipantBrilliant. Thanks Jacqueline. Fingers crossed for today!!
James McCarthyParticipantJacqueline
Do you use a stop at certain amount of losses method for your approach also?
JamesJames McCarthyParticipantAlso, have been looking at the success of short priced ratings which seems to be very high at the moment and combining them in doubles and trebles. This has proved very successful for me in my first month. I have also noticed a great deal of success in dutching selections when they are the first two or both are in the first three of the betting. Again seems to be profitable at the moment. Will keep watching and post any significant changes/findings.
James McCarthyParticipantHave to say that the ratings supplied here are incredible – I haven’t had so much green banners on settled bets in my Skybet account!! Also, the general help and advice on the forum is brilliant. Jacqueline – I think I am going to give your a system a go this week and see how it goes. Fingers crossed the good run will continue!! Thanks to everyone!
