ParticipantChris/Pippin, at last, I match your results. I got the bets on today within 15 mins. of Richard posting. I had 25 bets, 2 were 6.00 second favs. lost Showing tonight 4pts profit, but without the two extra bets it would be 6 pts. lets hope this is a turning point.
Thanks for posting data.ParticipantRichard/Chris, yes I have used the Irish all through, my gut feeling is they do better in general than the UK, but have not got figures to prove that. The rules are straight forward but have checked them several times. The only possibility is I have not been able to get the bets on until about 11.30am. With the earlier Ratings I might get bets on earlier in future, this might capture bets steaming.
Pippin, good to hear your story. Yesterday I backed a winner because it was 6.00 and was second fav. so I thought it should have a good chance ew. it won. I was hoping to get the 7/20 working first before mentioning this possibility to Richard. In the old days it was said (correctly) that you only bet ew at odds more than 4/1, then you would at least break even if it placed. Recently JacM put up a system backing 2nd rated at 5.00or over, I tried this and it did give a consistent small profit. So my question is would the 7/20 be improved by using 5/20?
For the time being I shall continue trying to get this to work for me.ParticipantHi Richard/Chris, I am now around 1000 bets, will do exact figures later. I am about £80 down using 50p ew. Bank £100. Today I put Irish on separately and won 15pts, but the rest of the meetings gave 1pt, which is better than normal. So in about 8 weeks I am down about 140pts. Do your results reflect those figures, has it been a lean period? I shall keep going though.
