Ian Bass-I just wanted to say a personal thank you to you for the guidance on the place betting and taking the time out to put up your selections. Very helpful in deed and I believe 5/8 of yesterdays were placed one being Masham Star who romped in at odds of 10/1 which would have been a very tidy place if required. Thanks Ian

Ian we are all obliged to you for your time with the place system. Would you be so kind as to clarify my query concerning the formula i.e do you go 2.5% bet bank x 1.06 divided by place odds – 1 (or do you ignore taking away the 1)? Cheers P

Hi Ian B great to read your post and the success you’re having. Ive reread the Bravo post and trying to get my head around it in view of your last comment. I don’t understand how it’s squeaky bum time if you’ve had 2-3 winners on the bounce? Isn’t that great? But aren’t you meant to stop after 1 winner?

Out of interest, does the calculator work for you or are you doing the bet calculations yourself and how are you selecting the horses to use?

Hi Stuart, have you tweaked your strategy now so that after a loss you drop 0.5% and then increase by 0.5% until a winner before reverting to the normal 2%? Cheers P

In the meantime I’ve been given the heads up on Tim Vaughans string at uttoxeter today, but ironically when I went to do an ew Acca none of bookies seem to be accepting it!? Will try bet 365

Morning Trevor. I hope Stuart won’t mind me assisting here, but yes, 2% of bet bank, the use something like Oddschecker Dutch calculator to work out how much on each horse. I believe that where there’s an odds on favourite and the second horse is 9.0 plus Stuart halves the calculated stake and EWs on that horse. I’ve slightly varied it to only stake my 2% on the odds on favourite, but if you check the races from last night at kempton, I lost out in one race where the favourite lost and the second rated romped home, but if I had EWd that horse I would only have made a partial recovery, so you may want to trial and error this system and keep a log of your results to see what’s best for you. Stuart please will you kindly clarify anything I may have missed out.
