Hi James, to clarify, if the place odds are 1.60 (not sure if the 1.06 was a typo) and you are targeting £25 profit, the calculation is £25 x 1.06 = £26.5 /(divided by) 0.60 = £44.17 stake.
If that loses you do, £25 + £44.17 x 1.06 = £73.32 (and let’s say the odds on the next race was 1.80), / 0.80 = £91.65 stake
This is why I suggest using a sensible profit target against the available bank you have. If you hit a bad day right at the beginning, you could potentially clear your bank if you’re not sensible, as it goes without saying that every strategy can have it’s bad days. Today I would go small as there is a lot of heavy ground around and I’m not sure whether Matt factors that in as his ratings tend to have a speed bias.
