Tonight thought I’d post JPW Racing Tipster full email for his tomorrows picks. He gives full reasons for selections. Normally will just post the selections.

Hi there—–,
Cant catch a break at the moment it is bloody ridiculous. We will turn it around like we always do but the form over the festive period has been disastrous.
Its all or nothing in this game in the lead up to Christmas our form was 1311 but since the Boxing Day we have been nothing short of pathetic.
Like I so often say I have not been in the game for 8 years to let a run like this get me down and I will come out of the other side bigger and better.
One thing I have is a fighters attitude and I will always get up and go again. I hate losing and all day I have been going over the cards for tomorrow and I am determined to end the year on high.
My knowledge of horses will always shine through and with the weekend upon us it is time to undo the bad work and get things back on track.

12:40 Newbury WELSH SHADOW 6/1 with Bet 365 – 0.75 POINTS E/W
The return to better ground will stand WELSH SHADOW in good sted. This was a very good horse over hurdles who earned himself a rating of 140 so the 135 he is rated over fences looks lenient. He was 3rd behind Politologue on his first start over fences and that form don’t look so bad considering what the winner done on his next start when winning a Grade 2 at Ascot impressively. WELSH SHADOW has always looked a horse who would be better over fences and I am sure we will see a big improvement from his first start over fences. Dan Skelton could so easily have chose an easy novice race with him so the fact he has chosen this tough novice handicap shows they think his handicap mark is lenient.

1:20 Punchestown MONKSLAND 5/2 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes – 1.5 POINTS WIN
Why MONKSLAND is not favourite for this I will never know. He is easily the best of these over hurdles and even the ratings say he is at least 6lb better than anything yet don’t get a penalty. The horse couldn’t ask for a better opportunity if he tried in regaining his winning ways. MONKSLAND was a proper Grade 1 horse over hurdles in his early career and the ratings suggest he gets in here off 138. I am very confident the horse will go very close.

1:50 Newbury ROBIN ROE 15/8 with William Hill – 2 POINT WIN
I think ROBIN ROE is going to turn into a real star. I was very impressed with his debut over hurdles at Aintree in October where he beat a good yardstick in No Comment by 12 lengths. That horse has since gone on to win. What impressed me most was the way he travelled through the race. He has a very smooth action and didn’t come off the bridle. He clearly had plenty left in the tank. I also like the fact Dan Skelton has waited a full 2 months to run the horse again obviously letting the horse mature at home like you should do with young horses who could be anything. ROBIN ROE is bred very well and is also a point to point winner so the faster they go the better as he will stay all day long. I do think he will be best over todays trip of 2m 4f thoughand he has alot of speed to use and plenty of gears to go through. WIN.

2:40 Newbury ROMAIN DE SENAM 4/1 with most firms – 1 POINT WIN
I wasn’t going to get involved in this race until I opened up the betting and ROMAIN DE SENAM was available at 4/1. Why on earth is he that big in the betting? You are talking about a 4 year old who has plenty of improvement left in him and a horse who was good enough to finish 2nd in the Fred Winter Hurdle at last seasons Cheltenham Festival. Paul Nicholls would not send a 4 year old chasing if he didn’t think he was up to it, you only have to look at the trainers record this season with 4 year olds. You have Frodon and Clan Des Obeaux just to name a few. I thought ROMAIN DE SENAM actually ran a decent race on his debut over the bigger obstacles to finish 2nd to the very good horse in Top Notch. That was a decent effort and the horse is sure to improve on that run. The price is way too big as I believe he should be around the 9/4 mark. WIN.

3.00 Newbury BORN SURVIVOR 8/1 with William Hill – 0.5 POINTS E/W
My long term members will know I rate BORN SURVIVOR and it is about time he delivered. The conditions are perfect for him tomorrow and he should be as fit as they come after 2 starts this season. I believe there is a lot more to come from BORN SURVIVOR and he will show the real promise he showed when making a winning debut last year at Warwick. I was at Newbury the last time the horse ran and although we were on the horse it wasn’t until I seen him in the paddock that I thought he was carrying a bit and looked like he would come for the run. He still finished 4th that day but I really think today is the day and I would be very surprised if he didn’t go close.

Yes Carl, I joined JPW yesterday, got their tips delivered first time today.
