I have not read this review and don’t intend to. I have been using these ratings on two fronts, I do the 7-20 as I do enjoy covering a few races and it is nice and profitable to small stakes, but more importantly I use the ratings to do as Matt suggests, I aim to make £25 a day out of a simple strategy, and have been playing this live for 2 weeks, on or two hairy moments but my bank is up over £500 (thanks to BOG!) When it has worked for a month I’ll share it, but it is based on strategies to be found in the forum. My only gripes are out of laziness, central to my strategy are type of race and number of runners, which I should very much like to see on the ratings. Two selections is great, more is likely to cause deflections in my thinking! The TPS ratings are on balance (given that everybody has good and bad days), consistent enough to enable the creation of profitable strategies, wich I assume is what we all want. The header of each race on Form ratings (as distinct from inform ratings) is worth a look, something like that here would be ideal. The finger out thing was tongue in cheek, but I would be happy if you could oblige, if not I then so be it, toys will remain in pram!!
chris pottertonMemberAgree with Carl, for the money Form raings provide much more info for a third of the cost. Come on TPS, fingers out time!
chris pottertonMemberWell done Richard, don’t think I can remember such a good Saturday.
chris pottertonMemberWell Robert, that is above and beyond, thank you very much.
chris pottertonMemberAny idea when the ratings will be out? I wont be able to use them if they are too much later.
chris pottertonMemberHi Ian, I did say I could see no reason not to include 3rd rated, but even so I cant get to your number of bets. I didnt do Navan, but on the rest – Donc 2 Ling 2 Hex 3 Muss 1 Worc 7 Eps 7 Ncst 6 Tra 4 = 32, so add your 6 for Nav = 38. Today I have covered all meetings and backed 12 horses.
chris pottertonMemberRobert, have you thought of setting up a sports service (dogs and footy)? I for one would be interested if the price was right – having checked your dog tips, profitable!
chris pottertonMemberHi Ian, and anyone else doing the 7-20, yesterday was a losing day, but it was to be expected, its the first in a while, and it is this that misstifies me, how are people constantly losing? It is a long term strategy, and may not be instantly spectacular, but if executed diligantly and with discipline it works. It works well so start low (£1, or eve 50p e/w) so big losses cant dishearten you, stick with it and for e very £100 gained increase your stake by 50p – so if you were on £1 e/w, up it to £1.50 e/w, and if you lose £100, drop back likewise. It has not taken me long to reah £2.50 e/w and I havn’t had to drop back, I don’t really expect to.
chris pottertonMemberIan, I see no reason not to back them. I try to keep an eye on the prices when I can through the day, there are a few that look likely to drift according to Odds Checker, so keeping an eye on them. I got 6/1 Snazzy Jazzy yesterday morning, it pays to shop around.
chris pottertonMemberHi Ian, I cant work out how you are making a loss, are you backing all horses that are priced 6/1 to 19/1 and are first or second rated? How long have you been following it? How did you do yesterday – these are my results. There were 18 bets at £2.50 e/w giving a total outlay of £90. There were three winners, Rasasee @ 16/1 (there only being 3 runners the whole stake was to win), Snazzy Jazzy @ 7/1 and finally Mister Music Maker @ 10/1. There were 5 placed runners, What about Carlo @ 14/1, Wahash @ 10/1 (early odds, always bet BOG), Pursuing the dream @ 11/1, The Statesman @ 10/1 (early odds again) and Caravela @ 8/1. These winners and placers returned me £185.62 for a profit on the day of £95.62. Now I call that a reasonable day! Now I follow the method to the letter – back all qualifiers regardless of race type or number of runners. Clearly in a three runner race e/w is pointless, so its all in to win for me, however, even if you decided t swerve the three runner race, you should still have returned a profit of £10.60, which is better than a kick in the proverbials! Yes, there are loosing days, but my original £100 bank (at which point I was betting £1 e/w) has never been threatened. Who knows what the futur may bring, but experience is giving me confidence in this method. I will point out that the above relates to singles only. Hope that helps.
chris pottertonMemberNice to end the day with a 10/1 winner!
chris pottertonMemberSnazzy Jazzy, Jazzy profit again today for all us 7-20 players. Once again cheers Richard!
chris pottertonMemberHi Richard, well, what a start Rasasee at !6/1, no e/w so £5 win corker!! How do you decide on the doubles to do? Its near impossible to cover the lot. Andrew, simply back every rated horse that is 6/1 up to 19/1 each way. If there are two in a race, back both, not unusual for both to place at all. I cant say I’ve had a bad patch, my £100 bank has never been in danger, of course you wont win every day, but what you must do is back ’em all.
chris pottertonMemberHi Richard, I have looked at it but with so many selections on most days not sure how to go about it. What would you advise? Just doing the singles e/w has built my bank more rapidly than I expected, so I’m well happy with that. Started with £100 bank and £1 e/w singles, increasing to 1.50 e/w when bank got to £200 etc, now on 2.50 e/w and I’ve not been doing it that long!
chris pottertonMemberHenley (7/1 this morning) rounds of a belter of a day on the 7-20. Cheers Richard.
