Two bets today
3-30 Ffoss Las Blankiedoodle @ 2/1 Bet365
7-50 Notts Lamloom @ 13/8 Bet365chris pottertonMember4/1 plus players to £10 have a nice £240 profit today.
chris pottertonMemberLooks like you have been promoted Richard!!
chris pottertonMemberShake The Bucket took a hefty bump turning in that seemed to stop him, but I don’t think he would have got to the winner anyway, but Skilled and Sutters Mill won well enough to make it 4 wins from 5, and £81 profit to £10 l/s. The strategy finds no bets today.
chris pottertonMemberJean Pierre, yes, I have had many fewer losing days, but I have to be honest and repeat that I do not play this every day by any means and have gone weeks and even months without touching it, but when I am in a position to use it it nearly always seems to produce.
Carl, certainly understand your point of view and I do agree broadly, yet I have to say that when you have had £60 on at 12/1 and won, followed by £40 at 16/1 in the same week, as well as 4/1, 9/2 winners, you learn to live with the losses, and as I say, over the year it has turned in a decent enough profit. I am however, working on another strategy that can be used as a bet and go that doesn’t depend on race following (just started posting selections in members tips) that I will post on the strategy page soonchris pottertonMember4/1 Plus strategy is as follows, using Matts ratings back any first or second rated horse that is priced at 4/1 or greater just before the off. This is a SAW method and uses the following staking plan, first bet £10, second £20, third £30 and so on until a win is achieved or you have staked £90 on a loser (or in other words you have lost £450) in which case quit and start again the following day. If both horses are priced 4/1 or greater, then dutch to level stakes by splitting your stake, so if you were at £30, the bet would be £15 on each. I use £10 as an illustration (and because that is what I stake), but it could be £1 or £5, whatever suits.
I don’t do this every day because of work, but even so it has made me a reasonable profit over the year.chris pottertonMemberI did see the e-mail about dutching and it struck me that there was potential for some hefty stakes being racked up to win £15. This is ok if you have both the bank and the time, but I suspect it wont be for many, I will stick with my 4/1 plus if I have time to sit and follow race by race, as well as Larry’s method which I find I can follow and fit in work.
chris pottertonMemberFine front running performance from Muligatawny yesterday to make it two from two. Three selections today
3-35 Tip Shake The Bucket @ 3/1 Bet365
4-10 Stra Skilled @ 5/4 Paddy Power
5-20 N A Sutters Hill @ 3/1 Paddy Power.chris pottertonMemberBooom! Muligatawny 7/2 into 3.
chris pottertonMemberMerlin easy winner yesterday, shame about the R4! Another for today 3-30 Ripon Muligatawny @ 7/2 Bet365.
chris pottertonMember£60 in the pocket, ta Larry!
chris pottertonMemberI am going to try rolling trixies starting a new one each day using Larrys method, so happy to be on Dubhe @ 7/2 for starters!
I think Carl makes a very fair point. Taking Larry’s strategy as an example, as it is so consistent, how much value does this add to the ratings? For me a fair amount, and the beauty of it is it can be used by those that want to bet and go, either just back his first qualifier in a single, or roll over trixies like I am doing. The same can be said of Carl’s matched and filtered selections, especially for those who like multi bets, more added value. As Carl himself puts it nice work if you can get it!chris pottertonMemberHere’s one for today, 2-55 Hay Merlin @ 9/4 gen
chris pottertonMemberAs you point out Larry, the horse doesn’t know what price it is! BC Double landed on the second trixie @9/4 giving us a profit of £16.16. Although we failed to get all 3 in, thats two trixies and a profit on both, it really is only a matter of time before all three come in and I dont anticipate leaving my money behind too often. Tjhanks for the method Larry, I am certainly carrying on with this, will see how I do.
chris pottertonMemberJon, 7/20 system was I believe devised by Richard and works on numbers. It is quite simple. Back all horses in Matts ratings and Richards Irish ratings that are priced at 6/1 up to 19/1. It pays to get on as early as you can with a BOG bookie. Many don’t bet with less than 8 runners as statistically the odds may be against you, but I have to say that I do back down to and including 5 runners (where I can get 1/4 the odds 1-2) and have picked up winners at up to 16/1. This system includes all rated runners, so 1st and 2nd, even 3rd when there is one, you may therefore be backing up to 3 in a race. This system clearly dosen’t suit everyone, it has longish losing runs, but if you are in it for the long haul it is well profitable. Patience is required. I started with a bank of £100, making £1 e/w bets, now on £6 e/w, as you should double your stake as the bank doubles.
