I am starting with Coal Stock @ 4/1 365, but I have a feeling it could be tough today.

Carl, even on the original version it was seven bets, so would still have been a winning day, I moved to nine because of the number of times the eighth or ninth came in after I had stopped at seven, and this made the method more profitable. Stan, I never considered doing this on the high street with stop at a winner on early prices, you could be on a winner there, must check it out, though where I live its a mighty struggle to get to a bookies (would involve a flight) and I dont think it can be done online can it? Post your results please, it would be interesting to see how it works, I have a feeling it could be less demanding.

Shake The Bucket took a hefty bump turning in that seemed to stop him, but I don’t think he would have got to the winner anyway, but Skilled and Sutters Mill won well enough to make it 4 wins from 5, and £81 profit to £10 l/s. The strategy finds no bets today.

Jean Pierre, yes, I have had many fewer losing days, but I have to be honest and repeat that I do not play this every day by any means and have gone weeks and even months without touching it, but when I am in a position to use it it nearly always seems to produce.
Carl, certainly understand your point of view and I do agree broadly, yet I have to say that when you have had £60 on at 12/1 and won, followed by £40 at 16/1 in the same week, as well as 4/1, 9/2 winners, you learn to live with the losses, and as I say, over the year it has turned in a decent enough profit. I am however, working on another strategy that can be used as a bet and go that doesn’t depend on race following (just started posting selections in members tips) that I will post on the strategy page soon

4/1 Plus strategy is as follows, using Matts ratings back any first or second rated horse that is priced at 4/1 or greater just before the off. This is a SAW method and uses the following staking plan, first bet £10, second £20, third £30 and so on until a win is achieved or you have staked £90 on a loser (or in other words you have lost £450) in which case quit and start again the following day. If both horses are priced 4/1 or greater, then dutch to level stakes by splitting your stake, so if you were at £30, the bet would be £15 on each. I use £10 as an illustration (and because that is what I stake), but it could be £1 or £5, whatever suits.
I don’t do this every day because of work, but even so it has made me a reasonable profit over the year.

I did see the e-mail about dutching and it struck me that there was potential for some hefty stakes being racked up to win £15. This is ok if you have both the bank and the time, but I suspect it wont be for many, I will stick with my 4/1 plus if I have time to sit and follow race by race, as well as Larry’s method which I find I can follow and fit in work.
