It was a poor day generally yesterday, Larry had to have a losing day sooner or later, his results are unreal! Here’s to another mammoth winning run. Perversly, but not unusually yesterday was another good one for 7/20, tha last two days recouping some losses and pushing us foward.

Morning Larry, your method is straightfoward and profitable, whatever day of the week it is, not all days are going to result in a winner first or second race, and the fourth race winners do seem to be pretty profitable! To my mind, if it aint broke, dont try to mess with it or fix it!!

SAW Winner on first race yesterday, loss to level stakes, but still in profit overall.

Hi William, no I dont, I follow the 7/20 method, and my own 4/1 plus is a stop at a winner method with a 9 bet stop loss. I am however intrigued by your staking plan, do you sit and operate it live right through the racing, and what is your starting stake and by what do you increase it, it didn’t sound like straightforward loss recovery?

Hi Buddymac and welcome. The 7/20 is explained in the successful strategies section of the forum, 11th one down I think (as opposed to the strategies link at the top).

Graham, I forgot to add that the third horse on the Goodwood card (with the asterix) are Goodwood longshots, these do not qualify for 7/20.

Hi Graham, I use Matts ratings (TPS) 1 and 2, also 3 if there is one, and Richards Irish and Sunday ratings, again if there are three, use all three. I know many say that it is not statistically worth doing less than eight runners, but I do, because I started that way, because often the outsider in a small field wins and I have had winners up to 16/1 from these races. My bank has never looked like being demolished though it has slipped back to even (and once a few pence below the £100). As Richard says the key is persistance, the day you miss is the day we get multiple double figure winners!

    Bookies on to you Larry?

Elisabeth, so sorry to hear about your misfortune. I think I used to do my money in one go following a losing method, and worse I would then chase losses, but the biggest thing I ever learnt was how to lose. You will always encounter loses, they may run over days and even weeks, and if you dont learn to accept this and deal with it, then your fate is sealed. This is how I deal with it. Having lost small fortune trying to recoup loses by upping the stakes or backing horses I shouldn’t have, I sat down and started to read what other people did and came to the conclusion that losing was a big part of the game for pro punters, and the way to over come it was discipline and bank management, so sticking to a proven strategy, and splitting my bank to cover losing runs. I now work to a small portfolio of strategys as folows
    7/20 Starting bank was £100 (now £1327)
Larrys method starting bank was £600 (to work at £5 units allowing for a possible 8 day losing streak, but in fact over 3 weeks I have only had one losing day, and that was through my mistake, so I am now using £10 unit)
My own method that is based on the Racing Post betting forecast and Matts ratings, the selections are posted and the method will be too soon starting bank £500 to £10 win singles – although I have only just started posting theese I have been using them for 3 months and the bank is now £1434.
I also use the 4/1 plus method when I can, this is very profitable, but you have to be prepared to take some real nasty hits!
I did join the NAP service and have 14 credits left, I have written them off and havn’t backed a NAP for over 6 months. Use methods that are on the forum and proven – Carl for instance provides a wealth of opportunity and his picks can provide a spring board to success – and start with small manageable banks/stakes, take your time and increase slowly as your banks grow. Any way you go, good luck.
