AND THE PRIZE FOR THE LONGEST WINDED TIPSTERS GOES TO…..

    Hi Carl

A very warm welcome once again to the short free trial of the one and only Darran Pearce

Each time there is a hunter chase race during your free trial period you will get an email from us with Darran’s in depth preview and tips for the race

The first Hunter Chase of 2017 is at Taunton this afternoon

here is Darran’s Preview and tips for the race

    TAUNTON – 3:10

Grandioso – Won three hunter chases last season at Kempton, Southwell and Fontwell, but all over trips shorter than this and I suspect this will be too far for him. Might well be a pipe opener before targets over shorter as the season goes on.

Mon Parrain – No surprise to see him going hunter chasing for his owner/rider. His three runs last season weren’t too bad. His 3rd at Cheltenham was a promising seasonal debut and then his rider had a rush of blood to the head in the Kim Muir. Finally his 2nd off 142 at Ascot was a good effort. He is the horse I would put in as favourite for the race as he does have the best form, however the jockey will always be a concern and this trip could be short enough round here for him especially on seasonal debut. Wouldn’t surprise me if he won but he is no value at the odds and there are enough reasons to want to oppose.

Tugboat – Had a good 2015 winning twice and won again at Ludlow last season, but he then ran no sort of race a couple of weeks after that and he ran even worse when pulled up at Barbury on his seasonal debut last month. At his best he would have a chance, but couldn’t even fathom backing him based on his last two runs.

Victor Leudorum – Sold for just £5k and could be the type of horse Steve Flook does well with. He took full advantage of a kind handicap mark when winning a couple of races in the space of a week at Stratford in August. Likes to front run and I saw Jack Andrews ride a couple of great races from the front at Chaddesley Corbett over Christmas. He does look a hard ride though and he looks like he needs a stiffer test of stamina than this now. One to keep an eye for the future but not sure tomorrow will be his day.

Lilbituso – Now on bare form under Rules he is hard to fancy compared to some of these. His win at Cheltenham in the Intermediate Final wasn’t a strong race and Quiet Account has done very little to frank the John Corbet Cup form from Stratford. However as I wrote when talking about those races last season he wasn’t at his best for various occasions for either race. He fell on his seasonal debut at the last when upsides Real Milan at Larkhill. It is hard to know who would have won, but Lilbitluso was giving him 12lbs that day and only has to give him 4lbs here. As I stated last season I like this horse a lot and I don’t think he has had a chance to show his true ability under Rules yet. I would be disappointed if he didn’t hit the frame at the very least.

Our Chief – Won the Restricted Final at Stratford in May and was well backed on his seasonal return at Barbury, but pulled up after making the running. Should be fitter, but this is much tougher than either of those two races.

Bound For Glory – Front runs most of the time but was held up at Cottenham when winning on seasonal in November. I suspect that was to help him see out the trip so I would imagine they will hold him up again here. A likeable horse who was 5th in the Aintree Foxhunter in 2015, but I would rather see him over a shorter trip, especially in a race like this.

Ambitious Pursuit – Looks to be well out of his depth.

Barel Of Laughs – Ran well in two hunter chases and his 2nd to Pearlysteps at Cheltenham in April was a really good effort. Beaten 17L when 2nd (obviously would have been 3rd if Lilbitluso had stood up) to Real Milan at Larkhill. Now he did need his first run at Warwick last season albeit that was with 2 and a half years off the track. If he does come on for the run he shouldn’t be too far away.

Colbert Station – Ran in a couple of Grand Nationals and McCoy rode him in the 2013 renewal when unseating him. Not won since that year though and looks firmly on the downgrade at the age of 13. First start of Jonjo after moving from Ted Walsh’s yard and his jockey Charles Davies is the stable amateur although he is yet to ride a winner in points or under Rules.

Foynes Island – Deserves to get his head in front as he has run some really good races in defeat. He was beaten a short head by Benedictus over course and distance last April and then Big Fella Thanks just pipped him at Cheltenham later that month. Was 2nd to a good horse in Temple Grandin on his seasonal return at Chaddesley Corbett over Christmas and he ran like he would strip fitter for the effort. He should run his race again and a bold showing at big odds would not surprise.

Hazy Tom – Was possibly in need of the run on New Year’s Eve at Cottenham when a weakening 4th. A frustrating horse though and was beaten 1L by Tugboat at Ludlow last season.

Lord Ben – Ex Henry de Bromhead and wins all over shorter although was 2nd over 3m so trip shouldn’t be an issue. Well beaten at Ascot in October and a BHA rating over 135 looks rather high at the moment.

Real Milan – As mentioned above he was just in front of Lilbitluso when that one came down at the last at Larkhill. Now I know the weights favour Lilbitluso, but I still wouldn’t rule out a bold showing from him. Last season he showed some useful placed form in points and went on to win three races in fast times albeit in lesser contests. There are 2 UR’s next to his name but one of those came when the jockey hit a marker at Andoversford. Now the rider Jack Jones is having his first ride under Rules and he has only ever ridden this horse in points, so that is a concern, but I think that is factored into the price and he has a solid e/w chance.

Richmond – Good 2nd in this race last year and followed that up with a 2nd to Mendip Express at Warwick. Not surprisingly he was out classed in both Foxhunters and also struggled behind Pearlysteps either side of those runs. I think this years renewal is stronger and he will do well to repeat his 2nd place let alone go one better.

Popaway – A real credit to connections who did very well to get her back to her best after a frustrating 2015. She won the mares race at Cheltenham, before a really good 2nd to Penmore Mill in the Aga Ladies Final at Stratford. Should be up to running well, but not sure she will be good enough to win.

So in summary it is a decent race to get the season underway. I am not surprised Mon Parrain is favourite, but at the same time he looks very short given the jockey and the fact I think he might need a stiffer test of stamina. This is Lilbitluso’s first proper test and hopefully he will prove up to it. There were some silly prices on him to start with, but the price he is now is the price he should have been in the first place and I doubt much money was taken at the double figure odds. If he gets round I do think it will be hard to see him out of the frame. The times Real Milan was clocking last season in his wins caught my eye and although Lilbitluso is better off at the weights he should still be capable of not being too far away. Foynes Island is so consistent as a horse and he should improve for a very good seasonal debut over Christmas. He might not be quite up to winning, but at 33/1 he is certainly worth throwing a few quid at because he shouldn’t be that sort of price.

    Lilbitluso 1pt e/w

    Real Milan 0.75pts e/w

    Foynes Island 0.5pts e/w

    Remember – Darran’s bet’s are advised on a scale of 1pt to 5pts, where a 5pt bet is a maximum stakes advice

    HAPPY PUNTING

Suzanne .(I got fixed up on betfair exchange quiet early) great news glad your doing well I’m doing £100 a day but letting it grow in the betting bank I suggest you keep
building up your bank to, for that rainy day .can’t win every day? Saying that with good odds and not having to back all selections it is possible to carry on into next day if need be . As long as Matt finds a plus 2/1 winner somewere in the day we are sorted .I based it on someone else’s similar system I nearly bought into .big difference is they give you 5 top selections daily all usually under evens so its quiet costly when they go down a rabbit hole . they claim 5 losing days in two years, I could live with that !!
Let’s keep going get a few weeks under our belts. If it keeps up I have built my bank and taking profit by end of the week

You know how some days, things just don’t start well?

Today has been one of those days!

I’d done all my selections for the day, and planned on sitting down and writing an email about staking. But then…

…I had a massive argument with one of the team working on my mum’s home. Now I’m worked up, and need some time to calm down.

So, instead of staking, I’m going to share with you the Guest Tip which is published on our blog today. It comes from Paul Lines Surefire Tips and is…

    13:30 Lingfield – Back – The Nipper

If you like using tipsters, and would like to know which tipsters you should be following, this is where you can find out!

    All the best,

    Also from reading the results page there is no reason you can’t just flat stake the lot ? Quote ;

    “Backing 1st rated horses:
    +£15,979 Profit
    June 2015 – June 2016
Backing all 1st rated horses to a £10 level stake resulted in +£15,979 Profit during the 12 month period!!”

Surely that’s the simplest way to turn a profit ?
